Cuca Fresca Premium Cachaça 1 lime, cut into 8 pieces 2 Tbsp. superfine sugar Place the quartered lime in a small shaker and add sugar. Muddle lime and sugar together in the bottom of the shaker. Cuca Fresca Exports, LLC, makers of a multi-award-winning array of organic cachaças and ready to drink cocktails has launched a North America wide mixology contest to find the best Cuca Fresca cocktail. The winner of this competition will be flown to Brazil, land of the carnival and smooth living for a private distillery tour courtesy of Cuca Fresca.
Cuca Fresca hasl teamed up with a panel of spirits experts to choose four finalists after all recipes have been submitted. A fifth “People’s Choice” finalist will be determined by the recipe that receives the highest number of votes through the Cuca Fresca website. To be eligible for the “People’s Choice” nomination, the cocktail must be on the drink menu at the contestant’s place of employment. Finalists will compete in a live “Shake Off” at the end of November and one Grand Prize Winner will be named.
WHO: The “Shake Your Way to Brazil” Cocktail Challenge is open to professional
bartenders and mixologists.
WHEN: July 1-Sept. 15: Recipe submissions can be made via CucaFrescaSpirit.com
July 22-Oct. 31: Votes can be cast at CucaFrescaSpirit.com for the “People’s Choice”

This double trophy winner is all class! From its inviting appearance of deep ruby/garnet colour with a black core, to its depth, shine and great clarity, it is in op condition. A very dense nose, there is a concentrated dark cherry fruit supported well with a ripe herbal tone and rich chocolate fragrance. These tones also come through on the palate in a firmly structured body. Firm but yielding tannins and fine acidity are balanced against the warm alcohol and sawdust -like oak derived texture. Powewrful, the elegant fruit flavours come throug easily and are seamless throughout. A long satisfying finish. It is clear to see why these few special clones of Sangiovese are so prized in Montalcino. This wine is drinking well now, but will continue to improve for few more years.
